Today, on 16 October 2024, Geonardo is proud to participate in the 2024 World Food Day convoy at the Varosliget Café in Budapest, an event organised by the FAO Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia. This initiative is part of the broader efforts of the Hungarian Bioeconomy Forum, a key member of the organizing committee. The event not only provides a platform for collaboration but also encourages collective action around this year’s powerful theme: “Right to Food for a Better Life and a Better Future.”

This gathering presents an extraordinary opportunity for people from all sectors to unite in support of food security and equitable access to nourishment for everyone. High-profile attendees, including Hungary’s Minister of Agriculture, representatives from the FAO, the Hungarian Food Bank, and renowned Michelin Star chefs, delivered motivating speeches to energize the participants and underscore the importance of this global movement.

The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has emphasised the significance of such events, noting that hundreds of activities and outreach programs are being organised worldwide. These efforts bring together governments, municipalities, businesses, civil society organisations, the media, and the general public to collectively raise awareness about the pressing issue of hunger. Youth involvement is particularly encouraged, recognizing their role in shaping the future of food systems.

The scale of today’s events is impressive, spanning across 150 countries and up to 50 languages, demonstrating the global commitment to solving hunger and improving food security. By participating in this important occasion, attendees and contributors are joining a broader network of individuals and organizations dedicated to making lasting, positive changes in the fight for the right to food, a better quality of life, and a more sustainable future for all.
