Exploring the Dutch bioeconomy ecosystem to accelerate innovation and regional collaboration

Launching collaboration for a stronger European bioeconomy

Vilnius, Lithuania | 13–15 May 2026

GEO participated in the BIO‑INSPIRE project event and General Assembly, held in Vilnius, Lithuania, from 13 to 15 May 2026, and hosted by Association LithuaniaBIO, the Lithuanian bioeconomy cluster and BIO‑INSPIRE project partner. The three‑day event brought together project partners, European and national policy actors, funding bodies and bioeconomy stakeholders to strengthen collaboration, exchange knowledge and explore funding synergies for bio‑based innovation.

From 3 to 5 February, GEO took part in a study visit to Örnsköldsvik in northern Sweden, organised by RISE Processum in the framework of the BIO-INSPIRE project.

Celebrating a major milestone for gender equality in the Blue Economy

From 27–30 October 2025, Geonardo joined partners of the REWRITE project in Aveiro, Portugal, for the 3rd Annual Meeting, hosted by the University of Aveiro. The four-day event gathered researchers, demonstrator site representatives, Advisory Board members, and stakeholders from across Europe to exchange insights and strengthen collaboration around coastal rewilding, a nature-based approach promoting biodiversity, climate resilience, and societal well-being along Europe’s shorelines.

The NEXRUR project kicked-off on 10 October 2025 in Xiamen, China, with a European launch to follow in Potsdam, Germany, on 22 October 2025. With this start, the project embarks on its mission to foster next-generation innovative and sustainable business models in rural areas across Europe and China, built on a shared vision of community-led entrepreneurship.

On 4–5 September, GEO participated in a pilot workshop held in Odense, Denmark, organized by SDU University and REWRITE partner Umberto Pernice.

2025. június 16-án hivatalosan is elindult a RethinkAction Integrált Értékelési Platform, egy innovatív digitális eszköz, amelynek célja, hogy a polgárok, érintettek és döntéshozók megalapozott éghajlatvédelmi lépéseket tehessenek a földhasználaton alapuló megoldások beépítésével a helyi, nemzeti és globális döntéshozatalba.
