Celebrating a major milestone for gender equality in the Blue Economy

From 27–30 October 2025, Geonardo joined partners of the REWRITE project in Aveiro, Portugal, for the 3rd Annual Meeting, hosted by the University of Aveiro. The four-day event gathered researchers, demonstrator site representatives, Advisory Board members, and stakeholders from across Europe to exchange insights and strengthen collaboration around coastal rewilding, a nature-based approach promoting biodiversity, climate resilience, and societal well-being along Europe’s shorelines.

The NEXRUR project kicked-off on 10 October 2025 in Xiamen, China, with a European launch to follow in Potsdam, Germany, on 22 October 2025. With this start, the project embarks on its mission to foster next-generation innovative and sustainable business models in rural areas across Europe and China, built on a shared vision of community-led entrepreneurship.

On 4–5 September, GEO participated in a pilot workshop held in Odense, Denmark, organized by SDU University and REWRITE partner Umberto Pernice.

The CEE2ACT project consortium came together in sunny Thessaloniki, Greece, for its General Assembly on 12–13 June 2025. Hosted by the Cluster of Bioeconomy and Environment of Western Macedonia (CLuBE), the two-day meeting marked a key milestone as the project moves into its final months.

On 20-23 May 2025, GEO was in Cork, Ireland, to attend the WIN-BIG project annual meeting and EMD 2025, where we co-organised the workshop "BuE Women Champions Take the Stage" with the sister project WINBLUE.

The BIO-INSPIRE project officially launched on 20 May 2025 with a successful kick-off meeting in Kozani, Greece, marking the start of a three-year journey to strengthen regional bioeconomy clusters across Eastern and Southeastern Europe.
