BIO-INSPIRE launches €300,000 Open Call to strengthen European bioeconomy collaboration

Applications are open until 26 August 2026 at 12:00 PM CEST.

The BIO-INSPIRE Teaming & Knowledge Exchange Programme Open Call supports study visits, European partnerships and the exchange of practical knowledge between bioeconomy organisations.

With a total budget of €300,000, the programme will support 30 cross-regional subprojects with grants of €10,000 each. Organisations can apply in consortia of up to three partners and build an exchange around shared technological or thematic interests.

Hungarian bioeconomy actors may use the programme to exchange experience with organisations in other European regions and adapt relevant approaches to their own activities. Each consortium must include a guest entity acting as coordinator from a BIO-INSPIRE region, including Hungary, and a host entity from a different European region. All partners must be established in different regions.

Eligibility information for Hungarian organisations

Most Hungarian organisations can apply if they meet the conditions in the Guidelines for Applicants. However, under Council Implementing Decision (EU) 2022/2506, Hungarian public interest trusts established under Hungarian Act IX of 2021, and entities maintained by such trusts, are currently unable to receive this type of EU funding. If you are unsure whether this applies to your organisation, we recommend checking the Guidelines and contacting the Open Call team before preparing your application.
