STRONGBIONET

Project Description:

STRONGBIONET strengthens the European bioeconomy by enhancing coordination and coherence among existing initiatives. Acting as a “network of networks”, the project connects stakeholders across Europe to foster collaboration, co-creation, and mutual learning. By integrating regional, national, and international actors, STRONGBIONET addresses fragmentation and unlocks synergies that accelerate the adoption of bio-based solutions.

At the core of the project is the development of a multilingual, EU-wide digital platform serving as a one-stop hub for networking, knowledge exchange, education, investment readiness, and science-policy dialogue. The project establishes four thematic Communities of Practice that engage educators, researchers, industry representatives, SMEs, investors, policymakers, and civil society, including underrepresented groups.

STRONGBIONET brings together a diverse consortium from 14 countries across Europe and beyond, with a strong focus on widening countries such as Hungary, Slovakia, Greece, Lithuania, and Portugal. By engaging with a wide scope of stakeholders and delivering comprehensive outputs, the project ensures long-term impact through robust governance structures, institutional anchoring, and sustainable exploitation pathways.

Geonardo's Role:

Geonardo leads the long-term sustainability, business modelling, and exploitation strategy of STRONGBIONET. Through this work, Geonardo ensures that the project’s results are transformed into actionable, scalable resources with lasting impact beyond the project duration.

Geonardo coordinates the development of a comprehensive exploitation roadmap, including the identification and mapping of key exploitable results, assessment of partners’ exploitation potential, and alignment of outputs with market and stakeholder needs. The organisation also supports the design of business and governance models for the STRONGBIONET platform, ensuring its operational and financial sustainability.

In collaboration with project partners, Geonardo contributes to stakeholder and market analysis, co-creation workshops, and validation activities to refine business models and ensure their feasibility. Through these efforts, Geonardo plays a key role in securing the long-term viability of the platform and maximising the uptake and impact of STRONGBIONET results across Europe.
