BLUES
Project Description:
BLUES aims to enhance the production of valuable bioactive compounds from marine invertebrates by cultivating cell lines from four phyla (Porifera, Cnidaria, Echinodermata, Chordata) and optimizing yields, offering an eco-friendly alternative to wild harvesting. Recent breakthroughs have led to the creation of the first continuous marine sponge cell line, demonstrating rapid division in multiple species. The project's goal is to develop industrial bioprocesses using these cell lines for sustainable production of high-value marine bio-based compounds, promoting circular processing and contributing to the Blue Bioeconomy.
Geonardo's Role:
Geonardo is the leader of the Dissemination, Communication and Exploitation Work Package and supports Wageningen University & Research, the project coordinator, with coordination tasks.
Key Contributions:
- Strategic Communication & Branding: We have developed the project's brand identity, including a comprehensive communication and dissemination tailored to reach target groups and end-users effectively.
- Optimised Digital Presence: Geonardo designed and maintains a modern, user-friendly website and interactive online spaces to engage stakeholders and foster collaboration.
- Content Creation & Outreach: We produce high-quality communication materials, ensuring regular updates across all channels, and drive engagement through event promotion, stakeholder engagement, and collaborations with EU projects and institutions.
- Impact-Driven Dissemination: Supporting other work packages, Geonardo ensures results are effectively disseminated, creating opportunities for knowledge-sharing and real-world application of project outcomes.
- Exploitation & Sustainability: We lead the development of an exploitation plan, ensuring project results achieve lasting impact and adoption by relevant actors.
