In the SCALIBUR Horizon 2020 project, leading waste management companies, technology developers and research organisations have teamed up with four European cities to demonstrate innovative solutions to transform urban food waste and sewage sludge into high value-added products, helping cities to increase their recycling rate and creating new circular economy business opportunities.
Project experts provided a personalized training to municipalities about biowaste management as part of the activities to foster replication in other cities. Participating municipalities have decided the focus of the session the topics are: engagement of citizens and innovative biowaste valorisation treatments. The session lasted 60 Minutes, with the participation of two representatives of local authorities from the Budapest Chief Mayor’s Office in the Unit of Climate and Environment and the Monitoring Department.
