Organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, the motto of the event was “preventing water crises” and its main objective was to contribute in finding solutions to prevent the escalation of water crisis. The BWS2019 had 2,400 registered participants from 118 countries, and it counted with the presence of high-level government representatives, private sector, academia, CSOs and NGOs advocating for better water management and protection. Geonardo posed questions at the plenary session (DAY#3) related to transboundary water affairs and lessons learned from different agreements such as the international Sava River Basin Commission and the Danube Commission.
